Painting & decorating in Totnes & Devon
Refresh the rooms you use every day with careful preparation and a finish suited to your home. Talk to Robbie about interior decorating, whether you have a single room in mind or work to complete after a renovation.
A good finish starts with preparation
The condition of the surface affects the result. Before agreeing the work, we discuss existing paint, cracks, damaged areas and any signs of moisture that should be investigated. New plaster, previously painted walls and timber woodwork may need different preparation and suitable products. Colours and the level of finish are agreed before materials are ordered.
What we can discuss
- Interior wall and ceiling painting within the agreed room scope
- Preparation and painting of suitable doors, skirting and other timber woodwork
- Minor filling and making good where included in the quote
- Finishing decoration following agreed renovation or repair work
Care for the room around the work
Furniture, floors and the spaces used to reach the room need appropriate protection. Tell Robbie whether rooms will remain occupied, whether furniture can be moved and whether there are access restrictions. Drying times, ventilation and the number of coats affect the programme. Persistent damp or significant cracks should not simply be painted over; the cause needs to be understood and any remedial work agreed separately.

Your questions
Can I supply the paint?
Discuss this before buying it. The agreed product, quantity and finish need to suit the surfaces. The quotation should make clear who supplies the materials and how shortages or unsuitable products would be handled.
How many days will decorating take?
Preparation, room size, drying conditions and the coating system determine the duration. The estimator includes example working days, but Robbie will confirm a realistic sequence once the surfaces and scope are assessed.
